Borrowed Time
Life overwhelms me.
Tears flow freely at its beauty
with each borrowed breath.
We’re shooting doves now
and the soot stained feathers fall
weeping on deaf ears.
Late Autumn
Parched prone irises
Rustling leaves at frosty dawn
A sole miraculous lily
Does love need a mirror
to know its own face?
Does its secret make it sweeter?
The passion of lovers
burns glorious when shared
yet is rarely sustained.
Possibilities
The warm enduring
flavor of the possible
is rich upon my tongue
I have stepped into the light
and cast a long shadow.
He darts in and out taking notes.
I wait in silence
To touch your soul with my eyes
Your heart with my heart.
Take the instrument into your hands
tuned to your touch,
bring forth mournful, moanful song.
The stones drop slowly
upon my image in the water
gross and disfigured.
Vision
She entered the dream catcher
to find the sacred hoop
and fell from a dying tree.
